weather you like it or not

I dressed up this sweater a little for some photos downtown last weekend.

Then on Wednesday, I couldn't resist shooting in the falling snow when I got home. I had worn this outfit to work, playing a little game I like to call "how many layers can I fit under my Harris tweed?"

I never, ever get tired of blue and white stripes.  I have had some version of these shorts for as long as I can remember, maybe even including some striped short overalls.  I was raised to believe that topsiders are always appropriate with summer shorts, and I sport the same pair I've had since high school.

Lindsay's chambray

Wednesday, June 5, 2013

I would like to include some of my friends' hand me down style here, and there is no better friend or clothing item to start with than Lindsay and her chambray shirt.

About four years ago, Lindsay showed up to my house to go to Bible study in this shirt.  It was just about the time chambray was starting to come around again as a trend.  Right in the middle of the hot summer, when you're headed inside for an air conditioned Bible study, this lightweight shirt is perfect.  Lindsay got the hand me down from her mom, and they told me it is J. Crew from the 1980s.

Thank you for sharing yourself and your shirt, Lindsay!
