LuLaRoe

Thursday, January 7, 2016

I first heard of LuLaRoe last fall, when my pal Kelly's sister in law started selling it. I got hooked on the clothes and found myself wearing them almost every day, especially when I traveled back and forth to Georgia. They are the BEST for traveling!

This fall, I decided to jump in myself and start selling LuLaRoe. I love how comfortable and versatile these clothes are--perfect for moving around all day with children at work and nice enough for church or a date.

You can look at my LuLaRoe instagram here, facebook page here, and join my private shopping group here

spring purple and gold

Friday, May 30, 2014

Even though it's nowhere near football season, I still find myself wearing purple and gold on Fridays. This season, it's the pastel version.

When my buddy sees me set my camera and run, he has to get in on the action.

glitz and menswear

Friday, December 27, 2013

This is the second of two looks I've posted with the fabulous Lyra necklace that I won from Loren Hope and Monkee's of Raleigh. See the first look here.

I've been reading Social Primer for as long as I've been reading blogs. I fell in love with the line when I watched a video of K. Cooper Ray talking about starting his brand, and my love grew deeper when I saw debutantes in cummerbunds and the video from the SP Smoking Winter Formal 2013 show. I just can't let the boys have all the fun. A few months ago, I ordered this cummerbund set during a flash sale; it was supposed to be for B, but before it even arrived, I knew I wanted to wear it first.

My mom was a lot more high fashion as a young woman than I am; she wore this St. John skirt thirty or so years ago with a matching top. The skirt is proof that vanity sizing exists: before I got it tailored, it fit like a 6 or 8 despite a size 12 label. I asked my tailor to reattach the label since it reads "made in USA."

This new year's eve, I'm planning a casual night at home with a few friends. Of course, there will be punch.

hot game day suggestion

Friday, September 13, 2013

It's after Labor Day but still hot as fire outside, and you're going to a football game.  Here's my take on what to wear.  Of course, this works best if you're cheering on the pirates or the deacs, but it would be easy to adapt.  Wear a red tank if you're a wolfpack fan or a navy skirt and white or light blue top for the heels.

white button down and Lilly skirt: part one

Friday, August 9, 2013

I found this Brooks Brothers oxford in my brother's old closet.  I'm not sure whose it is, but it looks like it's never been worn.  I strategically chose a too-short-for-work skirt while enjoying my last few days off.  I usually wear this old (high school days!) reversible wrap skirt on the other side, but the larger floral print appealed to me this time.

Check back on Monday for part two--the same button down, dressed up a little more.
